History of CARES

The Community Assessment of Renewable Energy and Sustainability (CARES) was formed in 2007 as a class project in ME 290H Sustainable Product Development.

The original CARES team members were: Ryan Shelby (UCB), Yael Perez (UCB), Job Van de Sande (UCB), Adarsh Krishnamurthy (UCB), Timothy Daw (CCA), Lucia Ávila Giménez Cacho (UNAM), and Alexandros Cruz Bououanzou (UNAM).

At its early beginnings, CARES realized the opportunities that lay in enabling consumers, communities, governments and corporations to reduce their environmental footprints by providing them with access to the latest environmental data and co-designing sustainability solutions to meet their needs.
